Thomas Parisi, D.O., M.F.T., M.A.
Psychiatrist & Marriage and Family Therapist
Dr. Parisi has cultivated a career in the mental health field that spans back to 2002. He has extensive experience and expertise in a wide variety of modalities, provides clinical supervision to developing mental health professionals, and employs multi-modal interventions to offer customized care for each patient. He works in a compassionate, and nonjudgmental fashion, offering comprehensive mental health care for adults, adolescents, and seniors. He is the founder of Ascher Medical Group.
Dr. Parisi is dually trained and educated as a psychiatrist and as a marriage and family therapist. How this translates into patient care is two-fold. As a general psychiatrist, he provides comprehensive psychiatric care, including complete evaluations, assessments, and treatment plans, with medication management for such issues as depression, anxiety, panic, mania, different types of PTSD, ADHD, OCD, insomnia, and addiction. As a marriage and family therapist, also referred to as a psychotherapist (MFC44338), he focuses on developing meaningful and lasting change through the process of psychotherapy. He can provide either medication management, psychotherapy, or both. He can also collaborate with providers with whom you already have established relationships. He treats each person uniquely and can work with you to create a plan that promotes your well-being and enhances the quality of your life.
Dr. Parisi graduated Magna cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Claremont McKenna College with his degree in literature. He subsequently completed his graduate degree in clinical psychology at Antioch University. After working as a psychotherapist and clinical supervisor, he returned to academics to earn his medical degree at Western University of Health Sciences, then completed his psychiatry residency at Loma Linda University. He is a published author on topics including depression, quality of life, pharmacology of sexual medicine, and nutraceuticals for wellness.
